How it works

Consultation
& Exploration

First, a free consultation. I will listen, to understand where you’re coming from, what you want, and how. A second chat? No problem. I’ll explain how I work and we’ll explore how to create a great book. We’ll make sure we’re on the same page (literally). Of course, references are available.

All OK? Start.
Interviews,
Interviews.

Agreed on expectations, format, timelines and terms? Great. We start with video or phone interviews with you and anyone you want to involve. (You’ll get lists of topics and questions, to “tickle” your memory). Each interview is written up, narrated for great reading (see home page how we’ll combine accuracy, tone and style). You review and comment. I edit, to ensure your message and tone is right.

Write-ups,
Comments,
Edits,
Communication.

As we progress, you will get more and more texts to review and discuss. Note: Frequent communication is important – it’s your story! You might be busy, but we want your book to be for the ages. More interviews and follow-up questions to fill gaps, and their write-ups, to be reviewed, commented on and edited if necessary.

More Comments

Photos?
Integration.

Nearing completion? Close, but no cigar (yet). Lots got done, but still some work ahead. More gaps to be filled, more questions and writing likely needed, with more reviews and edits. Then merging and integrating all the texts into their proper places, adding photos if any, and fine-tuning it all. Almost done.

Final Edits.
Check 3x.
Approval.
DONE!

Final edits, double-check, triple-check, and your final approval. And then it’s done and ready. As for the printing, it’s much more practical for many reasons if you arrange it at your end. Additionally (to entice your tech-addicted younger generations), the book can be uploaded on a website (password-protected for authorized viewers).
